Family Matters & Collaborative Law
Collaborative Law is a recent legal development in working with couples to resolve financial or children issues following decision to separate or divorce.
Both parties decide they will negotiate using specially trained solicitors to reach an agreed court order. Their solicitors are present throughout the meetings and are able to offer legal advice and support. Within the process the children may be consulted in order that their contribution can be included.
Family Matters is able to offer specialist child consultancy within the collaborative law process.
The Family Matters child consultants have extensive experience and training in working in this area. With parental and legal agreement written reports can be prepared about the children’ wishes and feelings which can be presented to court as part of the final documentation.
