Our mediators are legally trained as well as being highly skilled and fully trained in mediation. All our staff at Family Matters Mediation are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked.


Juliette Dalrymple

Juliette Dalrymple

Juliette is a graduate in psychology and has post graduate qualifications in social sciences and counselling. She has extensive experience in a number of different fields including, Teaching, Probation Service and as an independent report writer for the Family Courts. Juliette trained as a Family & Financial Mediator in 2000 and qualified as a Professional Practice Consultant in 2004. Juliette is a member of the UK College and an associate member of the Resolution (Solicitors Family Law Association).

Stan Angel

Stan Angel

Stan has worked in a variety of settings with children and families as a teacher, youth worker and Family Court Adviser since 1978. He trained as a Family & Financial Mediator in 1994. He is a member of the UK College of Family Mediators. Stan qualified as a Professional Practice Consultant in 2004 and is an associate member of the Resolution (Solicitors Family Law Association)(Resolution). Stan has moved to management and training within the public sector.

Helen Kirk

Helen Kirk

Helen Kirk is a family law specialist solicitor with over 30 years in the legal profession. Her expertise is helpful to mediating couples as whilst she is unable to give either party legal advice, she is able to help with understanding court processes, legal costs and the wide ranging options which parties can consider in mediation. Helen quailed in Mediation in 2009 and mediates both child and financial matters. Helen has her own legal practice locally, she is married and has a 19 year old son.

Rachel Renwick

Rachel Renwick

Rachel qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and has, until recently, worked in private practice in the South Yorkshire area. Rachel trained as a family mediator in 2000 and gained LSC accreditation for both children and financial cases in 2001. Rachel has extensive experience of working with families and young children, both in the mediation setting and also the legal setting. Rachel’s approach to mediation is to encourage parties to be conciliatory and to listen to each other’s views. She believes that mediation enables families to make decisions and reach agreements amicably, without the need for lengthy and costly court proceedings.

Sue has wide experience in a number of settings. She will be your first point of contact and will be able to offer appointments and general information about mediation.

Hazel Harrington

Hazel Harrington

Hazel deals with the legal service commission and our accounts. She is also very knowledgeable about mediation and may deal with initial enquiries.

Alison Mcilroy

Family Matters Mediator

Alison Mcilroy

Alison is a law graduate and qualified as a solicitor in 1996.  Alison specialised in family law including children matters and financial issues.  Mediation suits Alison's conciliatory approach to family disputes and her background as a Solicitor means that she can provide a helpful overview of the legal process.  Alison feels mediation is a positive step for couples to resolve their differences in a constructive, cost effective and efficient way.
